Weekend Training for ALS Students, given priority! | CMO-SHEEP ...

?GENERAL SANTOS CITY ? ?Basta ALS palaging alkansi?, quipped one participant last Saturday March 17, 2012, during the start of weekends training for ALS students on Basic Computer Operation and MS Word, held at Mabuhay IT Park, along CED Avenue this city.

?Alkansi? literally means short-changed. This is only an opinion of one ALS student but not anymore! As the City Mayor?s Office through the S.H.E.E.P. Computer Literacy Program created a training module intended exclusively for ALS students to give them an equal opportunity in utilizing whatever? available technology the local government has. This is to at least improve their way of living. Thus, the SHEEP team conceptualized a simple, practical and applicable way of how to start a livelihood through technology.

Calling-card making is the main training output in this module. Continuous trainings to include Web and Video Blogging to tap and enhance their writing skills at the same time showcasing their training output. Tarp designing using Photoshop will be included in future trainings.

These workshops for ALS teachers and students will continue until everybody can undergo, can complete and be able to apply the skills learned. CLP trainers agreed to extend their duty schedule even during weekends. The team of Dennis Dospueblos and Tito Pastrana conducted the training last March 17 Saturday while Jo Anne Pasco and Vanessa Eronico sacrificed their Sunday to be with the ALS students last March 18 Sunday.

This is one of the visions of Hon Darlene Magnolia Antonino ? Custodio to prepare the Generals to be globally competitive!
