AFC: Tokyo (July 22, 2013)Japan will continue preparations for the forthcoming 2013 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup with matches against Portugal, Italy and Spain at the BSWW Mundialito Gaia tournament later this month.
Japan open their BSWW Mundialito Gaia tournament on July 26 when they take on hosts Portugal, who surprisingly failed to qualify for Tahiti 2013 having reached the semi-finals in all but one edition of the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup since 2005, and face Spain the next day before rounding off their campaign on July 28.
Japan, who are coached by Brazil-born, former Japan international Ruy Ramos, qualified for Septembers finals in Tahiti by finishing runners-up to Iran in the Asian qualifiers in Qatar back in January and will face defending champions Russia in their opening match at the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.
